Children
The programs listed below are the opportunities for children that meet regularly. You can find other opportunities for children and families on the “Annual Events and Outings” page.
“Kids for Jesus” – our primary program for children | Wednesday evenings, 6:30 pm
Following dinner, as part of our mid-week programming during the school year, Kids for Jesus is for 1st through 5th grade children and uses a hands on, interactive approach to teaching a variet of Bible stories using Sparkhouse curriculum.
Childcare is provided for children kindergarten and younger on Wednesday evenings.
Children on Sunday mornings:
- 9:30 a.m. Sunday School hour: a class for Kindergarten through 5th grade is offered for any children whose parents/guardians are attending a Sunday morning small group/class.
- 10:30 a.m. worship hour: Childcare is available during the worship hour for infants through preschool-aged children (infants and “wobblers” are cared for by a staff nursery attendant; toddlers and preschool aged children are cared for by a volunteer who brings them up to the sanctuary when it’s time for the children’s message). Ages kindergarten and up attend the full worship service with their guardian. (We welcome children in worship and are not bothered by their squirms and fusses!). Every Sunday except for the first Sunday of the month includes a special children’s story time at the front of the sanctuary during worship.
Children and Safety: All of Calvary’s staff and regular childcare volunteers are screened through a nationwide background check, and in 2022, we are introducing new child safety training.
