Christmas Eve at Calvary: a big feast, a silent prayer time, a candlelight service, accordion carols by the fire, games, and an overnight stay for those with nowhere to go. There is “Holy in the Night.”

A great time at our annual Christmas Hope Dining Room (serving on our normal 3rd Thursday). As Calvary served our famous meatloaf, Santa brought good news and we sang some carols.

Last Wednesday, Calvary’s teens gathered for their annual Christmas party, complete with white elephant exchange and a human wrapping contest!

On Sunday, Nov 19, Calvary members and friends gathered for our annual tradition on the Sunday before Thanksgiving: a big meal! Some of our young people helped in the kitchen, and good food and fellowship was enjoyed by all. One of our youth even drew the kitchen crew a nice thank you note!

On Wednesday evening, we completed another round of our annual service project of filling and wrapping ditty boxes for seafarers coming in and out of the Port of Wilmington around Christmastime. Thanks to all who donated and organized.

Last Sunday a group of women enjoyed a trip to Winterthur and the Ann Lowe exhibit. After touring the exhibit, which included the reconstruction of Jackie Kennedy’s wedding dress, some ladies toured the house, while some hiked and played in the Enchanted Woods.

On Sunday, Calvary welcomed children and their families to our annual Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat! Pumpkin painting, music, games, and plenty of treats.

On October 4, Wednesday night dinner and programming returned at Calvary! Pictured here are the Kids for Jesus group talking about the parables of the lost sheep and coin, the youth group starting their series using “Alpha,” and the adult group talking about the sending of the disciples using clips from “The Chosen.” All after a dinner of ham, green beans, and mac n’ cheese. Three cheers for all our volunteer leaders!
