Homeless and Needy
Bread of Life – a weekly luncheon after Sunday worship services for anyone hungry for the food that feeds our stomachs, and a simple discussion around the word that feeds our souls.
Code Purple – A local rotating shelter program coordinated by Friendship House in which the homeless stay overnight in churches when the temperature drops below a certain point. Calvary is one of the shelter churches.
Hope Dining Room – A local nonprofit providing a free lunch every weekday. Calvary cooks and volunteers here once per month.
Christmas for All – an overnight stay, somewhat like Code Purple, for the homeless and lonely on Christmas Eve into Christmas Day. It all begins with a dinner in our Fellowship Hall, followed by our Christmas Eve services. Guests stay overnight and then wake up to Santa, presents, and a breakfast Christmas morning.
Community picnics – usually held on holidays like July 4 and Memorial Day, we always like hosting cookouts on our front lawn. Although they primarily target the homeless and hungry, these events have always been a great combination of church members, other friends and family, and needy individuals all talking and eating together.
